We travelled with Batyr and his team in Turkmenistan and had an excellent experience from beginning to end. Everything was very well organised and worked exactly as planned.

What impressed us most was the level of attention and support throughout the trip. They were waiting for us at the border and helped us with all the entry formalities, and they were there again at the end of the trip to assist with the procedures for leaving the country. This made a potentially complicated part of travelling in Turkmenistan extremely easy and stress-free.

The organisation on the ground was excellent, communication was very good, and whenever something needed attention they made a real extra effort to help.

It was, of course, my first time entering Turkmenistan, and I felt quite nervous during the strict and lengthy immigration process. So when our guide, Liliya, was there to welcome us, I felt incredibly relieved.

I wasn’t feeling very well to begin with, but she was always thoughtful and attentive throughout the journey. She told us a lot about the city of Dashoguz as well as other fascinating places around Turkmenistan, which helped me gain a much deeper understanding of the country.

The roads were extremely bumpy, and the nearly five-hour drive to the gas crater was honestly very tough, especially while I wasn’t feeling well. But the moment we finally arrived, the feeling was indescribable. The yurt was also much nicer and more comfortable than I had expected, and I really enjoyed the dinner as well.

Part of me wishes I could have enjoyed the experience even more if I had been in better health, but I was still able to end the trip feeling positive and hoping that someday I’ll have the chance to visit this country again.

I had a great time in Turkmenistan with Darvaza Travel. Our guide, Mekan, is a caring, attentive, and thoughtful guy. He always looked after the guests and tried to make our trip as good as possible.

Although the start of our tour was delayed due to an unexpected incident, they rearranged the itinerary and we still enjoyed the whole trip a lot. During the tour, we saw many things that still remain mysterious to the world, and there were also many chances to interact with the locals, which I didn't expect. This tour definitely became an unforgettable experience for me.

On the last day, I had a stomachache, probably because of food poisoning, but our guide knew how to deal with it and prepared everything he thought could help me. Thanks to his care, I recovered quickly.
